What this tool compares — and what it does not

We count money a card puts back on your bill on a repeating basis, because that is the part we can verify in dollars on the issuer’s own page.

We do not put a dollar value on lounge access, elite status, free nights, insurance, points, or miles, because any number we invented for those would be a guess. For some premium cards, those unpriced perks may matter more to you than the credits do. Treat this as one input to your decision, not the whole picture.
